The firing Squad


INGREDIENTS3 ounces 100% agave Silver tequila (such as Patron or Herradura)1 1/2 ounces homemade grenadine3/4 ounce fresh squeezed lime juice2 dashes Angostura bittersPineapple chunks and maraschino cherry for garnish
PREPARATIONCombine tequila, grenadine, lime juice and bitters in a cocktail shaker with ice; shake vigorously and strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with pineapple and cherry on a cocktail pick.
Homemade Grenadine
Homemade grenadine is a snap to make and is much tastier than anything you can buy at the store.
INGREDIENTS
2 cups refrigerated pomegranate juice (such as Pom)
1 cup sugar
PREPARATION
Boil pomegranate juice in heavy small saucepan over medium-high heat until reduced to 1 cup, about 8 minutes. Add sugar; stir to dissolve. Simmer 2 minutes longer. Pour into small bowl; cool. DO AHEAD Can be made 1 week ahead. Cover; chill.
